Emoticonists on dA (10):iconkrissi001:
I asked in a previous Journal that every Emoticonist should write a comment there.
You can still do it on this Journal if you haven't commented yet.
I sent notes to all of those who commented there and asked them a couple of questions.
And now I am going to feature all of this deviants and their answers
If you saw that I have featured you and i didn't include all of your answers/or any answers, you could write a Journal and include all of your answers there. ;D
What is your first reaction when you find a new Emoticonist?
Pick 5 of your most favourite Emoticonists and describe why they are special to you, what makes them stand out from the others?

help corner: EmoticonsWelcome to the help corner:Emoticons. If you have any questions about anything Emoticon related go ahead and send me a note. Not all questions have to be serious, I am looking forward to all kind of questions ;D The questions will be answered in the next edition of the help corner.
I had the idea for this News article when I recently went through the Tutorial list of Emotication. I normally send deviants to Emotication when they need help to create Emoticons. Now that I went through the list I noticed that many tutorials aren't helpful at all. It is "just" a list with very good but also very bad tutorials.
In the first edition of the help corner I want to share tutorials with you that I find helpful. These don't necessarily reflect my preferences in the emoticon creation process
Let me first tell you something about different shadings. Every Emoticonist has different preferenc

Emoticon Contest: past vs. present vs. futureI am proud to present you my first "official" Emoticon Contest.
At first I want to tell you something about the theme:
As you have read the theme is past vs. present vs. future, this means your entry has to include something from the past, present and future. The time isn't set, this means that the past could be just 1 day ago or 100 years ago it's the same with the future. For example: you could display how the emotes have lived in the past how they are living now and how they could live in the future.
Be creative and surprise me with your imagination
The Contest is divided into 2 Categories:
The first Category will be for deviants who would like to work alone. And the second category is for deviants who want to work with somebody (a collaboration category ;D) 2 deviants can work together.
But you could also enter in both categories!
Below you can find the rules of each category and what you have to keep in mind.

Frame by Frame Project - details - full for nowProject is closed until the Journal comment bug has been fixed.
I already wanted to host the project a couple of months ago but I never have been motivated enough to write a proper description for it. I am still not really motivated at all but I guess I have to force myself to get motivated again so I am releasing the Project now.
This Project is different to the Projects that I have hosted so far, this time many deviants will work on one Emoticon.
You might ask yourself now "how the hell can that be achieved?", well let me explain what I had in mind.
Every deviant who decides to participate in this projects will get 20 frames. In these Frames the deviant can do whatever he/she wants but they have to continue the work of the previous deviant.
My goal is that we have 600 frames at the end of the project, while I created the first 20 and the last 20 Frames (to loop the animation). This means that max 2
most popular emotes from January 2011Prepare yourself for quite a few Journals in the next days, I noticed that the "way back" function is working again and decided that it isn't too late to feature the most popular Emotes from 2011. :iconsuperw00tplz:
I would have included all months in one Article, but the Article would have been too big then. That's why each month will get their own Article.

The ABCs of Deviants: hanketsu1717Presenting...
First off, could you give us a brief introduction of yourself?
Hello there! The name’s Quolia. Or Hanketsu. Whichever you prefer I’m 21 years old and I’m addicted to deviantART. But most of you already know this
About me…Well, I love to play video games. I’m a big gamer and it’s one of my favorite things to do. I also love to write. It is my passion and it is my dream to become a novelist. I have two novels that I’ve been working on that I would love to have published one day I love to make art
duh, but it is more of a hobby. I also really enjoy watching movies and going to the theater to see new films!
I’m also weird and love talking about nonsense I spend most of my free time here on dA, browsing through pretty art or chatting with my friends in my chatroom, :#TheDarkAngelGathers:. Come join us…we don
You Spotlight the Under Appreciated - Volume 1A while ago, I ran a poll where I asked my watchers and visitors to show me artists they loved, but who they felt were under-appreciated. There were so many suggested artists, I couldn't fit them in one article! I have to admit, it was amazing visiting the galleries of these little-known and somewhat-known deviants. The artist who are featured were suggested by a poll commenter, while the specific piece chosen was selected by me. I have also included some of my own personal "under-appreciated artists" at the end.
This is a 1 of a multi-part series. Part 2 will be featured early next week.

This is the 36th installment of the mostly-weekly feature dedicated to showcasing the emoticon creations of up-and-coming and veteran emoticonists. Be sure to check out the rest of their galleries for other amazing works. This article also features projects, contests, groups, and more, in the hopes of exposing them to new deviants and those not familiar with the emoticon community.

The whole scene and the faces on the emotes make me LOL. Funny.
Parenting for Sex AddictsThe half-day.
We are not those folks that need an occasion to try. And that’s what they call it, too. Trying. As if the very idea of it is taxing. It’s not taxing and we are not those people.
No. We do not go by some magical calendar. Schedules aren’t really our thing in general. That’d be too organized. Too stuffy. Too… I don’t know… too planned. And we’re not the type of people whom plan.
If we could—plan—our lives would be much different. I think. It’s hard to say because this is how we’ve always been.
Our very togetherness is a result of impulse. I’m almost certain that the amount of time it took us to decide to move in together was significantly shorter than the amount of time it took us to remember each other’s names. We might have had our first conversation moments after that first… what I mean to say is we didn’t plan. Because planning would have been much t
