Emoticon Contest: past vs. present vs. futureI am proud to present you my first "official" Emoticon Contest. :happybounce:
At first I want to tell you something about the theme:
As you have read the theme is past vs. present vs. future, this means your entry has to include something from the past, present and future. The time isn't set, this means that the past could be just 1 day ago or 100 years ago it's the same with the future. For example: you could display how the emotes have lived in the past how they are living now and how they could live in the future.
Be creative and surprise me with your imagination :eager:
The Contest is divided into 2 Categories:
The first Category will be for deviants who would like to work alone. And the second category is for deviants who want to work with somebody (a collaboration category ;D) 2 deviants can work together.
But you could also enter in both categories! :eyes:
Below you can find the rules of each category and what you have to keep in mind.

Yes you guessed it the theme of the contest is Red solo cups! You know, those red plastic cups with white rims you see at parties.
Rules:reading:
One entry per deviant
Your entry must contain one emote and at least one red solo cup.
You may add other colored cups such as yellow and blue but at least one should be red.
Submit your entry to The Featured folder of the group.
Make sure you get your entry in by the deadline for it to be included in the contest.

I had the idea for this News article when I recently went through the Tutorial list of #Emotication.  I normally send deviants to #Emotication when they need help to create Emoticons. Now that I went through the list I noticed that many tutorials aren't helpful at all.  It is "just" a list with very good but also very bad tutorials.
In the first edition of the help corner I want to share tutorials with you that I find helpful. These don't necessarily  reflect my preferences in the emoticon creation process :paranoid:

Fourth challenge commencing!Sorry for being late, we had a bit of a kerfuffle on deciding the theme for this week. :shifty:
Since this week is National Storytelling week, we've decided to go with Stories as our next theme.
This could be interpreted in a number of different ways...is your emote going to be reading a story? Telling a story to someone else? Will they be reading from a book or would a bard be more suitable? You could even chronicle a story using emotes...it's your choice, as ever!

First off, could you give us a brief introduction of yourself?
Okay. brief (hahaha, anyone on here who knows me, that is not a word I know).  I'll start with the obvious.  I'm an artist.  That's a word that has defined my life, and it sounds silly saying it to other artists (since everyone on this site is an artist).  But it has served to explain any silly behavior I might have and someone looks at me odd "I'm an artist" suffices.
I like to try all styles and mediums.  I even write poetry (which I rarely ever share, because they're songs and I sing them).  So, my gallery is full of a bit of everything.  And most of the people on DA likely know me for my journal skins.  Because I am CSS obsessed and want to make a skin out of everything I see.
I'm 31, I have a five year old son, Chase.  I've lived a hard and soap opera style life growing up, which has shaped me into who I am today

This month's theme is Where Emotes Live. Does your emote live in an apartment stamp? Or a traditional brick stamp home with a couch and TV? Or something really different like a treehouse or spaceship interior?

I thought it would be nice to create welcoming gifts for the next Emoticon CV. :love:
The goal of this project is to  show that we fully support the next emoticon community volunteer, no matter who it will be.  
All you have to do is to create an Emoticon that shows what the next cv could need,  a bucket full of love or something completely different ;D
if you want to you could display the emote version of the next emote cv as a black emote with a questionmark and as soon as we know who the next emote cv will be, we change it to his/her oc.
