Scuzzle-QuizA Scuzzle is a scavenger hunt and a puzzle. I am not sure if you can consider this to be a real scuzzle. :paranoid:
Anyway I hid 10 Emoticons on my page, those Emoticons are linked to sta.sh pages where you can find a question.
(Important: Don't answer the question on the st.ash file, copy the question and your answer into a notepad file.)
These Emotes are also holding signs, there are letters on the signs. If you have found all Emoticons you will find a link to a sta.sh page, with the final question.
You have to answer all questions to be able to win the scuzzle-quiz, but you will also get points for each correct answer.
To make it easier, I added numbers to the Emoticons so you don't have to guess the correct sequence.
I will provide the template where you have to add the emoticons.
As soon as you have found all Emoticons, add them to the template. Then submit it to your sta.sh.  Then you have to copy the questions and your answers into the Artist's Comments,

Emoticon Appreciation Day

Journal Entry: Sun May 12, 2013, 1:44 AM
Welcome to another Emoticon Appreciation day. Today we celebrate the existence of Emoticons on dA and the existence of Emotes in general. They bring us joy and they help to show our Emotions. You can celebrate this day, by using more Emotes than usual or you can participate in the events that I prepared for today. I hope you will have lots of fun. :happybounce:

I use this Journal as an Overview Journal for all the events that will happen today, so you don't miss any of them. :dummy:

First of all I want to tell you that I won't announce a specific set of prizes, all I can say that I have 2500 :points: and all of them will be used. Everybody who participates has the chance to win something (if you have the correct answer).  The fastest deviants might get a few more points. ;D

Here are the Events: You can learn more about the events by visiting the corresponding Journals. :dummy:
(You don't have to participate in all of them.)

oh and everything that has been created for the Emoticon Appreciation Day can be submitted to the Group: :iconemoteappreciationday: :P  (You have to be a member to submit something)

Deadline of the Events.

Most of the Events will end at 11pm (Los Angeles time). on May 13
Because of mother's day I decided that the events will end 1 day later.  So more deviants can participate.

You can find the time for your country here: [link]   or try this link [link]

If the deadline is different, it will be mentioned on the corresponding Journal.
If you aren't sure when the event ends, please ask me.

Guess the songs.

(I created a few Emoticons based on song-titles. You have to guess which song I meant. If it isn't the song I meant, but still fitting to the Emote, you will win as well.) Deviants who guess the Artist/Band get bonus points. :eyes:

Emoticon Gallery: Newsletter #1
Summary
I was hat-ed in the last week of April, so I don't have a lot to share, per say.  Firstly, though, I wanted to express my excitement over there being an Emote CV again! :happybounce: Yes, yes, I know.  I should be more excited about being the CV, but that excitement was tempered with fear...and it has passed.  Now, I get to just be excited knowing someone is posting DDs again. :giggle: Speaking of which, please keep the suggestions coming!  The more, the merrier, in my book!  As you have probably seen by now, I am trying to stick to an Emoticon DD every other day.  We are a small community and I don't want to run out of pieces to feature.  So, it is the schedule that I will stick with for now, with the chance of more or less days between subject to change to fit my schedule, if necessary.
Also, please take a moment to go give input on the

STAMPS

I love stamps.  I find, lately, that a stamp is the only way I make emotes anymore.  So many actions and ideas have been taken for just emotes...but stamps!  There are quotes, showing support, being funny, etc. :eyes: The list goes on and on!  So, this month, the theme is stamp.  You can create a stamp for others to use on their pages, or you can show support for a fellow artist by making a stamp for them.  Or, you can do a mailman themed emote. :flirty: As long as it has something to do with the word "stamp", it will qualify! :happybounce:

Each year `Krissi001 organises a fantastic day to celebrate emoticons, known as Emote Appreciation Day or EAD.
The date for this year's EAD has been announced as Sunday 12th May (this Sunday).

Krissi has an awesome set of events lined up including wordsearches, scuzzles and emote challenges. You can find the full list here: http://sta.sh/01hgtt5ik89m and you don't have to be an emoticonist to take part!
In addition, a number of emoticonists will be hanging out all day in our emoticon dAmn chatroom #WeEmote, so feel free to drop by and have some fun.
Be sure to watch the #EmoteAppreciationDay group and stay tuned for the announcement of events. We would also appreciate you helping to spread the word and let people know this exciting event is taking place.

Contests

College Contest - 3 EntriesHey guys, ~Serrius07 here! I'm hosting my first ever contest! The new theme is...
:dummy: COLLEGE! :dummy:
With spring fling approaching fast here at my own college, and finals coming shortly after that, many people are going to have to balance work and partying. What do you love (or hate) about college? If you aren't a college student, what do you imagine it to be like? Work? Parties? Sporting events? Make an emote relating to whatever you think of college life!
RULES
:bulletred: Your entry must be an emote (they don't call it EmoticonOpus for nothing, right? )
:bulletgreen: You may submit up to THREE (3) entries for this contest.
:bulletyellow: Static and animated emotes are acceptable.
:bulletorange: Make sure it's somehow related to the theme! If it doesn't fit the theme, it's disqualified!
:bulletblue: In the artist comments, state that it was made for the EmoticonOpus contest, and if how the emote related to the theme isn't glaringly obvious,
2 entries for Tree-motes! Comments Appreciated =)EDIT: 5/7 2 entries so far. Lots of time yet to enter! :eager: I'm new to this type of Administrating, but enjoying it immensely, so by all means feel free to comment or suggest things as they come to mind!
EDIT: 5/4 I decided to create a folder under Group Favorites called ART PRIZES, to showcase Art selected as prizes by the winners. :squee:
May:
The new "Contest" folder is now "Tree-motes"! I used to do most of my Summer reading near the top of a tall Maple when I was a kid! Perhaps you have a favorite tree, or dream of a tree house you've always wanted. Maybe a tree was a character in a story you loved? =)
Here are the rules:
Must be a new deviation
Must have something to do with a tree or trees
Static or animated accepted
Must have at least one emote
Entry must be submitted by midnight 31 May (0400 GMT June 2nd)

May 1, 2013The featured emote for today is:

A Buck Tooth Emoticon by ~ja22, submitted on February 15, 2002.
A buck tooth emote. The ultimate expression for everything. Sadness, utmost joy, ineffable rage, etc. You name it, :B does it.
May 2, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Waiting. Waiting. WAITING. by *Emotikonz, submitted on March 11, 2011.
This is a very nicely animated, pixelled, and thought out emote. The shading on all of the various objects in the foreground and background are all outstanding, the animation of the emote walking down to the check the mail is very fluid, and the expression of disappointment on the emote when there's nothing in the box is very realistic.

May 3, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Flower wanna party? by ~chrsfaria, submitted on June 19, 2012.
This emote is just so adorably cute. The little party hat that it's wearing, the way it's looking at the flower, it's all so incredibly diabetes-inducting sweet.
May 4, 2013The featured emote for today is:

emoticon opus contest - space by *Electrosion, submitted on September 24, 2011.
Did you know that emotes have their own space program? Actually, they might just be on our own space program, hitching rides.
But don't tell anyone at NASA that. :paranoid:

May 5, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:achoo: by *Soulnova, submitted on June 16, 2011.
The way this emote loops it's animation over is really unique. The little details of it, like the expressions of the emote and the smoothness of the animation also make this a really good piece.
May 6, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Frustrated Emote by ~Msabrehaven, submitted on September 14, 2005.
Ever have trouble drawing proper L shapes on paper?  This emote feels your pain. Even if you haven't, this emote still feels you during your life's frustrating moments that make random symbols of rage appear in speech bubbles next to you.

May 7, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Ignored by ~Lushbob, submitted on April 16, 2011.
This piece was done in a very unique way. It's pixelled so that one might not even see the emote that's being ignored, and focus just on the emotes that are standing in a circle together. It's a very nice way to add to the overall feel, which was done brilliantly.
May 8, 2013The featured emote for today is:

wave remake by ~nillemotes, submitted on June 22, 2009.
This is a very nice remake of  that I myself, and others, often use while in dA's chat networks. It's very handy as an emote, and it's a nice way to convey greeting someone with this smiling face.

April EMTC! + 17 Entries! + 5 days left!!Hey guys, please remember to note/comment me about your entry.  Just because it ends up in the gallery doesn't mean it will actually end up in the journal.  The note/comment streamlines the updating process for me! :meow: Thanks!
Rainbows

So, my life is kinda sucky right now.  Family stuff, struggling to get moved and completely settled, having no time for me, etc.....yeah, kinda of a dark patch for me.  I need some happy stuff for my eyeballs.  And well.....April showers bring May flowers....and also rainbows. :eyes: Rainbows make me happy. :D The colors are vibrant and shiny..and sometimes sparkly...:flirty: You get the idea.  Whether your emote is riding a rainbow-haired beast, puking the colors, eating colorful breakfast cereal....as long as there is a rainbow of colors in your piece, it will fit.  Amuse me, plz. :happybounce:

4/11 - It's still early with 19 days to go! We've certainly had lots of real life rain here since this started. My County is under a flood warning!
I had planned on giving stuff from the dA store as prizes off and on, but as most of you are aware, it's closing. What is your opinion of winning prints of other deviants art as prizes? I'd really like to do something other than the usual points/subs.

Movie-motes winners are -
Runner-up - *snazzie-designz wins a dA Accessory Pack!
Winner - =Kath602 wins a dA Fun Pack!
Both entries are now in the Featured Folder!
Movie-motes is now an  "Open" folder. Old and new submissions will be auto-accepted. Be sure the deviation has something to do with movies and contains at least one emote.

Host(s) needed + Other contestsHost an opus
We've now worked out way through our list of upcoming hosts and are in need of a host for the next contest. You don't need to an experienced emoticonist (or even an emoticonist at all) to host an Opus - just willing to set a theme, gather prizes and judge your contest at the end.
If you are interested in signing up at host, please send the group a note (comments sometimes get missed). If we get multiple people signing up then we will simply create a new waiting list and contact you when it is your time to judge :)
Other contests
There are a couple of other emote contest groups in the community that I'd like to take this time to promote.

I need your help!  I am preparing something for a special day.
All you have to do is to write a comment here with a word that is related to the Emoticon Community/Gallery.

You can write as many words as you want.  :paranoid:

A special challenge: Also include a description of the word so others can guess what it is, based on the description.

Birthday + Hell freezes over

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 11, 2013, 5:11 AM
First of all, Thank you very much to those who took the time to come to my page to say Happy Birthday.   And special thanks to the deviants who created something for me. :blushes:

(by *marcphx)

til Hell freezes over

I want to hear your opinion about it.
What do you think about it, that it is now possible to buy the "til Hell freezes over" status and a premium membership that lasts for 7 years for US $200.00?

Would you buy it if you had enough money?
Do you think it should be something just for (current and former) Staff/Volunteers?
Would it be ok for you if it would get a different name?

What do you think of those who buy it? Do you care less about them, because they think it is important to buy a special title?

[link]

I am against buying the "til Hell freezes over"-title.  For me the title is a reward for what I have done in my term as a CV. The title means less to me now that it is possible to buy it.
And I don't want that deviants who just have too much money (and don't love dA enough to apply as a CV) will get the same title. I don't want that deviants think that I bought the title.
And I don't want to have anything to do with deviants who spend money on a title. They could be a really amazing deviant, but I am going to judge them based on their decision to buy the title.

I don't care if people want to buy a 7 year long Premium Membership and a special title (maybe even a symbol) as long as it isn't the same title that (current and former) Staff/Volunteers get.
(even though I will still think less of them)

~MikkoToivonen here (formerly known as runemetsa ). Even though I stepped down from the main admin position over a year ago, I wanted to write this blog entry here to clear up #Emoticiety's situation.
As you might have noticed, our group has been really quiet in the past months. This is mostly because many of our admins have resigned from their duties (we still have few awesome admins, not to take anything away from them). And you, our beloved members, you have been extremely active with your submissions. Thank you for that!

This idea certainly has creativity and uniqueness as one of, if not it's most abundant trait. The animation is also smooth, and the shading of the emote works well when it works it's special skill.

Jumping HejMote by =VlKlNGEN, submitted on November 8, 2010.
The animation physics is astounding in this piece, with a nice fluid framerate and blob-like properties of the emote. The change in expression of the emote as it hits the floor and how the hat has it's own separate drop are more nice touches put into this emote.

A (modern) history of dA emoticonsIntro
As you wander around deviantART pages, there is noticeably one art medium that invades almost every element of the site. Whether it is the deviantART galleries, journals, news section, comments, forums, chatrooms, avatars or even dA profiles, it is hard to find a spot that hasn't been infiltrated by a familiar set of small, coloured, pixel circles. The art form I am talking about is of course the emoticon and throughout the past 10 or so years they have been happily adopted by deviantART and its community.
Although emoticons can often be spotted on a wide range of other instant messengers (IMs) and social media sites, deviantART has come to house a unique branch of these miniature art pieces. Whilst the majority of these alternative sites opt for simple, predominately yellow emotes with a range of basic expressions, the art community here at dA have stretched the art form far beyond its natural boundaries and developed entirely new styles of emoticons
Outsider Looking In: Emoticons#ArtHistoryProject: Customization March
Customization is a diverse category, that because of its diversity shares many rumors, myths and general questions about parts of the gallery and their uses.  I do not claim to be knowledgeable of this gallery, in fact, when writing this article, I decided to approach this through my own perspective as someone who has no experience with the gallery and has never submitted to it before.  I set out to answer my own questions that I've wondered about and was greeted with a tremendous amount of help from the community as well as a variety of answers for me to chew on.
This Wednesday, I will present to you three of the amazing people who answered my questions about Emoticons and their responses. For those who are seasoned emoticonists, feel free to answer the questions in greater detail in the comments. Here are some questions for everybody to participate i

Secret Contest: Need Judges!Hey!
As some of you may know, I will be hosting a top secret emoticon event next month. http://icexdragon.deviantart.com/journal/It-s-Coming-355082965
There will be at least 6000 :points: worth of prizes to be won!:wow:
But, I need a panel of 5 emoticonist judges.:dummy: If you fit all the requirements below, feel free to note me saying you're interested.:meow: If you get chosen, I'll note you with all the info about the contest.;)
Must have been an emoticonist for at least 1 year.
You must have 30 emotes or more in your gallery.
If you met these requirements on a different account, but don't on your current one, you may still apply.
Note that you will be judging multiple times. Assuming the interest is as planned, you will be judging possibly up to 50 emotes at one time. You must be able to complete the judging process within 3 days. Missing a period or 2 is OK, but please keep to a minimum.
Judges may still compete in the contest, but may not vote for themselves.

2013 Spring Clean and Group IdeasSpring Clean
Each year I like to do a spring clean of this group to ensure all of the information is as up to date and relevant as possible. Over the next couple of weeks I intend to go through each of the journals and clear out old information, as well as add in any new relevant information.
To help me in this process, if you have spotted any issues or problems I would love to hear about them. It may be the fact that the CV is listed incorrectly somewhere (which I have just found), a broken link, a dead group or something else you have spotted. Feel free to leave a comment on this journal or note myself or the group directly.
I have also been in contact with the majority of the groups listed on our Groups page to check that each group is still active and serving the community. If you are a founder or admin of one of those groups and have not replied to my note, please do so asap or your gro

March 11, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:monstercokemachine: by ~Hayabuza, submitted on August 28, 2010.
The machine is very nicely pixeled, along with the emote's animation and use of expression. The idea in itself is also pretty unique and well thought out. Just be sure to avoid this vending machine if you spot it!
March 12, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Singing Emote by *Keikuina, submitted on October 4, 2009.
Expression is always a very important part for any static emote, and this one pulls it off very well. The speaker system is also nicely pixeled, and ready to help that little guy jam with the rest of the band!

March 13, 2013The featured emote for today is:

I want the ice tea by ~supperfrogg, submitted on June 18, 2010.
This piece shows a nice example of teamwork to obtain a very nice example of a pixel summer drink.
March 14, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Teh Conductor by ~Epiculus, submitted on May 29, 2008.
The smoothness of the animation shows how realistic this emote is to an actual conductor! The expression, as always, is also a key element to this awesome emote.
March 15, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Water Ski by ~madb0y, submitted on August 2, 2009.
With summer just around the corner (or just fading, depending on your hemispherical preference :paranoid:), this beautifully shaded, animated, and pixeled emote piece needs no words to describe how it accurately shows being pulled along by a speeding boat in potentially dozens of feet deep water.

March 16, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Reason to celebrate... by =Kath602, submitted on February 29, 2012.
A nicely pixeled scene for a past project shows a somewhat common problem among party-goers: Whether to steal the entire delicious looking cake for yourself or not. :paranoid:
March 17, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:junkmail:, by ~Spaarghy, submitted on July 14, 2007.
A nicely animated emote from a time past when junk mail was sent through mailboxes instead of through e-mails, the expressions and animation is very well done.
March 18, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Angel vs Demon by ~riuske, submitted on February 25, 2009.
The individual details and shading on each emote is excellent. The expressions are also fitting of character for each emote as well.

March 19, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Nice-Spice's House by *litecrush, submitted on December 31, 2012.
I honestly had a hard time picking from this deviant's gallery for a feature, they were all pretty amazing. :paranoid: Nonetheless, this one in particular stood out to me, the level of detail of the house is incredible. Each individual nook and cranny is very well pixeled, along with the emotes themselves looking quite happy to find such a large delicacy.
March 20, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:gaming: - Full Version by ~Smidy, submitted on August 9, 2006.
The use of expression in this emote is impeccable, as any gamer can relate to that one time where they almost threw their controller at the TV in ineffable rage at that one part of the game.
March 21, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Mad coach training by *malmu, submitted on August 12, 2010.
The tiny details put into the swimming motion of the emote in the pool is impeccable, along with the texture of the water itself. The animation of the coach's bandana is also a little animation quirk that makes this an overall great emote.

March 22, 2013The featured emote for today is:

El Flamo de Rectum by ~yuukansan, submitted on November 1, 2001.
Although it might not be visually impressive, this can arguably be one of the first emoticons ever submitted into the gallery, with a thumb number with only 5 digits. It's interesting to see how far emotes have come since the year 2001.
March 23, 2013 + NEW INTERVIEWS, STARRING YOU!The featured emote for today is:

Emote Evolution by ^ChaosEmeraldHunter, submitted on November 24, 2012.
With this group's focus being featuring emotes from all corners of deviantART, this emote itself features a great example of how emotes have changed over the many years of people using them on the internet.
Also, since you probably read the annex of the normal journal header, #EmoteADay is now starting a new kind of feature! Interviews! :la: On the 15th of every month, we will choose one random emoticonist that has volunteered themselves to be interviewed via the same method of random features.
If you would like to potentially be interviewed and featured on EmoteADay, leave a comment on this journal or on the Master List saying you'd like to be interviewed, and we'll add you to the list! :dummy:
March 24, 2013The featured emote for today is:

I'll walk you home... by ~kittyluv8, submitted on July 2, 2012.
A unique part of this emote, is the ability to create a situational background just based on the rain particles and puddles, without using an actual pixeled background. The expression, as with any static emote, is also nicely done.
If you haven't yet heard about the upcoming interview series from EmoteADay and how you can be a part of it, check out the journal from March 23 for more details! :la:

March 25, 2013The featured emote for today is:

:jkjk: by `stuck-in-suburbia, submitted on May 6, 2011.
I personally like the unexpected-ness of this piece. When I first looked at it, I was kind of surprised myself at what the animation entailed, just like the emote that gets to be at the wrong end of the barrel. The smoothness of the animation and the various expressions on each emote is also superb.
March 26, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Ice Grinder by ~HsnGoneWild, submitted on November 30, 2010.
The glow effect from the ice is very well cast upon the emote and the surrounding space. The animation and shading is also well executed, making this an overall amazing emote.
March 27, 2013The featured emote for today is:

The Robot Family by ~Xanderpus, submitted on March 17, 2013.
This cute little family portrait shows a very nicely textured background and fun expressions for each family member. It also shows that, somehow, robots can procreate. Might wanna watch out for that.

March 28, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Seasons by ~magistycal, submitted on September 24, 2010.
Animation different sections of an emote separately is difficult, which this emote has pulled off successfully. The shading in each quadrant is very nice, I personally like autumn the best due to the fluid motion of the leaves. And autumn is totally the best. :paranoid:
March 29, 2013The featured emote for today is:

jamming by ~twilightang3l, submitted on July 22, 2002.
The simplicity of the piece adds to the quality, from the animation to the shading style. The shading, by itself, is impressive for the time period where most emotes were one solid color.

At long last, the day has come. After 3 weeks of nominations and another 3 weeks of voting, the polls are closed, the ballots have been counted, and `Krissi001 and `Mirz123 are here to announce the winners of the 2012 Emote Award.!
Before we get to the winners, though, we'd like to comment on a question that was raised during the voting process. There was some concern that a few of the "newcomers" actually posted their first emoticon before January 1, 2012.  In previous years, the Emote Awards were done on an erratic schedule, from a date in December to another date in December. Our goal this year was to get the awards on a full January 1 - December 31 calendar. As a result, there were a few newcomers that fell into the gray area between the last awards and the new January date. In the spirit of fairness, we allowed those couple of emoticonists to compete, since we did not feel it right

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 6, 2013, 10:27 AM

Interview with emoticonist :devKrissi001:!March is the customization month here on #ArtHistoryProject! This was my opportunity to interview with five great emoticonsts!
Last Saturday, we had a great conversation with `mintyy.
Today, we interview `Krissi001!
:iconKrissi001:
Hello, `Krissi001! Tell us about yourself. How did you start making art?
Hi!  Well, my name is Kristina Pest, I am 23 years old and from Germany. I am really bad at writing things about me. D:
If you have any questions, you can either send me a note or can ask it on my ask.fm account
I think everybody likes to scribble things in their notebook or and papers. In Kindergarten one of my paintings was selected to get a frame and they put it on the wall, that was special for me.
My cousin showed me how to draw graffiti (on paper), it was something I did for a few years, then I decided to draw tradi

This piece is very nicely pixeled and animated. Just make sure to not look for too long, or else the little guy'll see you and retreat back into his pond.

Hey there, everyone! =Waluigi-Prower here, it's time for another monthly (technically, this one is 3 weeks, but that can be our little secret) #WeEmote chat event!
This event will take place on

Saturday, March 16th, 2013 @ 8 P.M. GMT / 4 P.M. EST / 1 P.M. PST

The Master List
This is the master list of deviants we pull from when we choose the emote to feature for the day.
By no means is this list ever fully complete, if you don't find yourself on the list, note us  or comment on this journal and we can add you to the list, if you meet the following criteria:
1. You must have at least 1 emoticon in your gallery, otherwise we ain't got nothing to feature if your name comes up. :B
2. You can only have up to three separate accounts from your main account on the list.
Any deviant's name with an asterisk and a number next to it means that that user has an alternate account, and can be found with the same asterisk number code. If I've made any mistakes, such as the wrong accounts linked together or one account has no emotes on it, don't be afraid to send a note and correct me. Also note that even if a deviant on this list is banned or has deactivated their account, some of their deviations can still be used as featured.
Most of the name here were

Interview with emoticonist :devmintyy:!Customization month on #ArtHistoryProject gave me the opportunity to interview amazing emoticonists here, on DeviantArt!
Today, I will present you `mintyy, a well known emoticonst that has offered so much to DeviantArt!
:iconmintyy:
Hey there, `mintyy! So, tell us a little about yourself. How did you find out about DeviantArt?
How I found DeviantArt? Hm. To be completely honest, it was so long ago I don't remember.

Oh, I see! So, let's talk about emotes. How did you start making these little creatures?
I started making emoticons after I found `SparklyDest's Pumpkin contest. I entered it with a, to be honest, completely bad entry and no experience in pixel arts at all, yet it inspired me to make more pixelarts and therefore also emoticons.
As we can see on your profile, you have an amazing collection of pixel flowers with emotes. How did that idea spring in your head?

March 4, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Reapirs 2.0 by ~Azundo, submitted on January 14, 2009.
The particle effect for the bubbles was done fantastically, along with the rest of the apparatus that holds this emote in the rather unique situation of being a possible lab experiment.
March 5, 2013The featured emote for today is:

Could you hold that for me? by ~X-wing9, submitted on January 28th, 2009.
The shading on the many various objects in this emote is impeccable, along with the expressions of each emote. I also personally like how the shaking lines still represent motion, even though the emote itself is a static.
March 6, 2013The featured emote for today is:

watching the Moon by ~horber95, submitted on April 27, 2011.
I could just write complements about every little thing in this piece, from the textures and shading of everything on the canvas, to the dithering light shining off the beautifully pixeled moon. Truly, a very wonderful static scene.

Chat Event

GUYSGUYSGUYS: Chat Event c: + Changes:#weemote: February Chat Event
Saturday, February 23rd, at 9PM GMT (4PM EST)
After a month-long break from chat events (the double chat event took a lot out of us, we needed some time to rest up), `Synfull and I got together to organize a chat event for February! :happybounce:
We tried extra-special-hard this time to make our chat events as open to everyone as possible--both people who have little to no knowledge of emoticons and those who are experienced in them. If you would like to donate any prizes to the cause, post here: http://synfull.deviantart.com/journal/poll/3489926/ Any pimpage towards the event (in poll, via tweet, in journal, or whatever) would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you all, and see you Saturday!
Edit: The chat event is moving back to :#weemote: chat room instead of in the :#seniors: chat room. We hope to see you there! :)
Minor Edit: Some events at :#seniors: have been put back up! We will remain at :#weemote: (to avoid further conf
Chat event venue movedKristen and I were due to host a emote themed chat event in the #Seniors chatroom this weekend as part of the Seniors Chat Event Week. However, we have just been informed that the chat event week has now been cancelled and whilst we can use the chatroom for our event, we won't have the same level of access as anticipated.
Therefore, we are moving the chat event back into #WeEmote. All other details are will stay the same, and we have no intention to change our plans because of the move.
We still aim to include:
:bulletblue: A emote themed trivia session
:bulletblue: Non-digital emote challenge
:bulletblue: Pixel emote challenge
Thanks to some very generous donations we have some amazing prizes on offer including quite a few :points: and some awesome art requests. So don't forget, the event is now on:
Saturday, 23rd Feb @ 9PM GMT (4PM EST) in the #WeEmote chatroom
Please help spread the word to ensure everyone knows of the change of venue. Thank you and hope to see you

But it's only for Emoticonists. Everybody else can link their Art as well but don't expect a comment from me.
You can share 1-2 deviations but they can't be older than 6 months.

Do you want one?  Just comment here!
You don't have to send me your address yet,  I will ask for your address in november. :boogie:
And it would be great if you link me  up to 3 of your favourite Emotes, they have to be smaller than 50 x 50px. :paranoid:
