EG: Newsletter #1.1 - Gallery Makeover Edition

Emoticon Gallery Makeover

Okay, after reading comments and discussing a final style with `Synfull, this is what I plan on submitting for the Gallery Makeover.
Chat Friendly: There will be three heights. Small (max 25 pixels) will be for emotes that don't disturb text. Medium (max 50 pixels) will be larger and more along the size of Plz accounts. Finally, Large (max 150 pixels) will be for the much bigger pieces. Rather than limit each category with its own width, that could later lead to confustion (where does one put a 24 x 136 pixel piece?!?!?!), I am going to try to get a max width of 150 pixels for the entire Chat Friendly category. This is the max size of thumb images, it seems like a nice end point for Chat Friendly emoticons.Visual Purpose: This is the category where pieces that that are created solely for artistic enjoyment go. Emoticon TournamentAfter months of waiting and anticipation, the "Secret Contest" I had planned is here! I bring you, the Emoticon Tournament!

As some of you may remember, !DryBones44 hosted an epic tournament called the “Multi-Round Emoticon Drop Out Contest”. http://web.archive.org/web/20110815070308/http://drybones44.deviantart.com/journal/41567949/

The tournament was a blast and there were many participants! And I am going to revise it!

So, here is what’s going to happen:

After all the participants are gathered, I will use random.org to match the participants up randomly. I will then select a topic, and then you and your opponent will face off and make an emote based on the theme. You will have 1 week to make the emote, and then our judges will decide the winner of each match up.

Here are the results of the Emoticon Appreciation Day :

At the end of the Article you can see how many

each deviant will receive.
As I said before, the Event wasn't about how many points you could get, it was about to have fun in the events.

I didn't mentioned 3 events, because all entrants had the correct results in 2 of the events. Nobody entered in the 3rd event.
